Brennan Eagles: Yesterday, one of Texas top wide receiver targets, Brennan Eagles (Houston, TX) released his top ten…

Eagles doesn’t talk much but I can tell you that based on information from our sources, Texas is in a very very good spot at the moment. In fact not too long ago it looked like Eagles was going to pull the trigger.

The thing that seems to be holding a few of these top guys back is still the desire to see what Tom Herman’s team will look like this upcoming season. But again, Texas is in a good position at the moment for Eagles. – (Super K)

Cameron Dicker: Texas extended an offer to a kicker, in Lake Travis (TX) K Cameron Dicker. I know that some weren’t fond of how the previous staffs didn’t put as much stock into offering kickers, but it doesn’t look like that is the case with Herman. Texas is Dicker’s only offer and I expect him to end up in Austin as of today.

I didn’t expect to see a kicker offer go out last night, as one kicker who visited Texas over the Spring was told that Texas is going to hold a kicker camp over the summer. And the best performer would likely come away with an offer. But it sounds like Craig Naivar went out to Lake Travis recently to see Dicker in person. – (Andrew)

Bralen Taylor: Texas went to see Cuero (TX) TE Bralen Taylor last week. At 6’7 220 he is a very raw TE prospect but a good athlete that fits the mold of what Herman/Meekins want at the position. I haven’t been told if Texas wants to take 1 or 2 TEs in 2018, or if they want to wait and see how the Reese Leitao situations pans out. Right now the big three TE prospects are Mustapha Muhammad, Malcolm Epps, and JUCO TE Dominick Wood-Anderson. Taylor looks like the #4 guy right now.

Taylor named a Top 4 of Baylor, Oregon, Ole Miss, and Texas. The one thing different about Texas compared to the others on the list is that he doesn’t hold an offer from the Longhorns. If that doesn’t demonstrate is interest in Texas, I’m not sure what would. Taylor isĀ is a guy to watch down the line. – (Andrew)
