– Staff In Houston: The Texas staff was out visiting a lot of out of state recruits last week, but they’re back in the state this week. A majority of the staff will be in Houston today. Jason Washington already stopped by to see Heights (TX) CB Jalen Green, and will see Hou. Lamar (TX) CB’s Anthony Cook and D’Shawn Jamison, along with WR Al’Vonte Woodard. Others that will get a visit from the Texas staff is Episcopal (TX) WR Jaylen Waddle, Westside (TX) DT Keondre Corburn, and Alief Taylor (TX) WR Brennan Eagles.

– Alston Orji: Last night Rockwall (TX) ILB Alston Orji committed to Vanderbilt.

Recently Super K reported that the Commodores were near the Top of his list along with Oklahoma, Texas A&M, and Texas. So it’s not a complete shock, but we thought Texas A&M and Oklahoma were the leaders for him. – (Andrew)

– DaShaun White: I spoke with Richland (TX) LB DaShaun White recently, to see where things stood between him and Texas. White holds offers from OU, TAMU, TCU, UCLA, and others. He visited Texas this Spring, but left without an offer, and I get a sense that White is getting a little tired with how Texas is recruiting him. The reason for that is because he would like to make a commitment this summer and the Longhorns haven’t offered.

He told me, “Coach Orlando told me he likes everything about me, but wants me to make a trip back to get around the staff some more and show my ‘contagious personality’.” He added that the staff would like him to visit on June 10th, and that an offer is likely to come. He’s not 100% sure if he’ll make the visit yet.

Oklahoma, TCU, and Texas A&M are the current leaders for White, but if Texas offers they will be a contender for sure. I’m just not sure if they will offer, but he is a guy to watch. – (Andrew)

– Amari Gainer: A Texas LB target will be making his commitment tomorrow in Lawton Chiles (FL) LB Amari Gainer.

While Texas has made a big impression on Gainer over the last few months and went to visit him twice this Spring, Florida State looks like the clear pick here. As Gainer is a Tallahassee kid and hasn’t ever visited Texas.
