– Brian Williams: I was told that Bishop Dunne (TX) ’19 S Brian Williams plans to visit Texas this weekend. It is big news as Williams is the early #1 player in the state of Texas and a Top 20 player nationally and it will be his first visit to Texas under Tom Herman.

S coach Criag Naivar has but an elite 2018 S class together with BJ Foster, Caden Sterns, and DeMarvion Overshown so he can have a head start on going after the best one in 2019. Williams’ older brother is former Arkansas star RB Rawleigh Williams, who decided to retire this Spring due to neck injuries. That seems to have taken away the Razorbacks edge. He is coming off of a Notre Dame visit and I was told that the Irish staff blew him away.

It is still big news to get the #1 player in the state of Texas in 2019. – (Andrew)

– Calvin Avery: Another recruit that could be on campus this weekend is Williams teammate in Bishop Dunne (TX) DT Calvin Avery. Texas has been after Avery for awhile now, but this recruitment is interesting as Texas A&M and Nebraska looked like the heavy favorites but thei tight numbers at DT forced them to back off a bit. Right now it looks like TCU leads for Avery an if Texas really wants him they could make a big move this weekend if they get him on campus.

Another factor in this one is if Texas plans to take one or two DT’s in 2018. As Westfield (TX) DT Keondre Coburn is the #1 priority at that position. – (Andrew)

– Keondre Coburn: ICYMI, Westfield (TX) DT Keondre Coburn visited Texas on Tuesday for their mini-camp in Austin. I was also told that Coburn is expected to be back in Austin again this weekend for Texas’ big recruiting event.

With the loss of Jordan Elliott and Marcel Southall, Texas is selling Coburn on early playing time and can sell it more realistically than just about anyone else. Getting him back on campus would be big, as he likes to jump around between Texas. Texas A&M, TCU, and Alabama for being his leader. But I like where the Longhorns stand as of today. – (Andrew)
