I wasn’t planning to have an OP today, but since it’s the weekend and some news came up, here’s a short OP. And the Town Hall should be sometime this evening.
– Stephen Herron Jr: Most know Trinity (KY) WR Rondale Moore by now, but another Kentucky recruit that Texas offered a few weeks ago was his teammate ’19 DE Stephen Herron Jr who is a 5-star DE. Herron and his family are in Austin this weekend visiting Texas, which is big news.
Herron dropped his Top 10 recently and some big name schools are after him.

Most look at Michigan and Ohio State as the leaders for Herron right now, but getting him on campus is huge for the Texas staff. Landing his teammate Rondale Moore won’t hurt with the 5-star DE either. – (Andrew)
– Dead Period: It was has been full speed ahead for Texas recruiting for the last few months as Tom Herman has put together a really good start to the 2018 class. But things will slow down a bit as the dead period starts Monday and ends on July 9th, so recruits won’t be able to take visits during this time. It’s also the time where most college coaches take a short vacation with their families.
One good note is that I’m expecting Texas to land some very good news the week after the dead period… – (Andrew)
