– Al’Vonte Woodard: The biggest news for Texas fans to follow this week will be the commitment of Hou. Lamar (TX) WR Al’Vonte Woodard.

I always say there are no absolutes in recruiting, but Texas is in a very good spot with Woodard. He also plans to visit Texas on July 21st, which sounds like good news could be coming for Tom Herman and Drew Mehringer on Saturday. – (Andrew)

– Trey Dean: Another guy who will be in Austin this week is Dutchtown (GA) DB Trey Dean as I first reported a few weeks ago. He plans to commit on July 31st and is basically down to Texas and the hometown Georgia Bulldogs. This visit is a big one, because unlike his first visit to Texas this summer, both of his parents will be with him.

And before you ask, it doesn’t seem like Dean has much of an impact on either Jalen Green or D’Shawn Jamison. Dean is another guy kinda like Caden Sterns who could play CB or S if he came to Texas, but I’d put Sterns a tier above Dean. Though he is still a really good player and a take for Texas.

Oklahoma also recently offered but he seems down to Texas and Georgia right now. – (Andrew)

– Luke Ford: Texas will host one of the best TE’s in America on Friday in Carterville (IL) TE Luke Ford. I spoke to Ford before he took off for the Opening and he didn’t have the date set but they locked it up recently and he will also visit Michigan in July.

Right now Alabama and Georgia lead for the former Arkansas commit, but both the Longhorns and Wolverines will get a shot to jump into that lead group over the next few weeks. I still think Texas has a much better chance to land TE Malcolm Epps and JUCO TE Dominick Wood-Anderson than Ford as of today. – (Andrew)

– Noah Cain: As I tweeted out this morning, 5-star IMG Academy (FL) RB Noah Cain will visit Texas tomorrow with his father.

They are just coming off of an LSU visit on Monday, and he said his last visit of the summer will be to Oklahoma on the 29th. Right now Cain is the #1 target of RB coach Stan Drayton as he’s already locked up his 2018 commit in Keaontay Ingram. I think it is safe to assume Texas, OU, and LSU are the early Top 3 for Cain – (Andrew)
