Keondre Coburn: Arguably the top target for Texas in 2018 may be Westfield (TX) DT Keondre Coburn. I say this because the trenches aren’t nearly as loaded in terms of talent in the state with this class like the skill positions are. Coburn is one of the few crown jewels of this DT class and is a top target for Texas.

It sounds like it’s going to be a busy July for Coburn, as he will visit Texas for their big recruiting event on July 21st. He will also visit Texas A&M and TCU in late July, and I think it’s safe to assume those are the Top 3 for Coburn. Usually when I see recruits take a flurry of visits in a short period of time, I get the sense that a commitment could be coming. I asked someone about that with Coburn and they didn’t rule him out committing before his senior season.

The biggest wildcard with Coburn is that when I’ve talked with him throughout his recruitment, he’s changed his commitment date just about every time we speak.  We’ll see if the off-season commitment date sticks with Coburn, but either way Texas leads for him based on who I’ve talked with. – (Andrew)

– Arjei Henderson: As I tweeted out, FB Travis (TX) ’19 WR Arjei Henderson has some July visits planned.

He’s a Top 3 WR in the state of Texas for the 2019 class, and decommitted from Oklahoma a few months ago. He told me he just felt that he made his decision way too early in the process, and just about every big school in the nation is after him. He also told me awhile back that Texas was a school he grew up rooting for.

Though I wouldn’t count out Oregon one bit. As I talked to someone close to their program that said the staff in Eugene wouldn’t be surprised if Henderson committed to them on his visit. So that will be something to keep an eye on, as the Ducks are recruiting him harder than anyone else. – (Andrew)

All-Big 12 Selections: The All-Big 12 teams were released this morning, and 5 Longhorns made the cut.

Oklahoma was the only other school with 5 players to make the list.

UPDATE (3:35 PM): Another big name will be in Austin on the 21st.

I’ll have more on him tomorrow. This is a big visit for Texas.

UPDATE (5:50 PM)Another huge recruit will be in Austin on the 21st.

Texas hasn’t offered Tisdale yet, as they’ve said they want to see him in game action this fall as he hasn’t started a varsity game at Allen yet.

Tisdale was set to goto Ohio State, someone who has offered. With his teammate Theo Wease, and now they both so they’ll be at Texas so that is big news. We’ll see if an offer comes earlier than expected as I think Tisdale could be the guy in 2019 at QB.
