– More Ojomo: I caught up with 2018 DT, Moro Ojomo (Katy, TX). Texas has been recruiting Ojomo for quite some time though an offer has yet to be extended. Ojomo does hold offers from Big 12 schools like TCU and Oklahoma State.
Ojomo tells me that he will see Texas in back to back weeks. He visited TCU this past weekend.
Then, next weekend he will take a visit to Texas for the Kansas game. Ojomo says he plans on making a decision in December though I wouldn’t surprised if one comes earlier.
He has ties to TCU in that his former teammate, Corey Bethley is a freshman defensive lineman there.
Ojomo is another defensive linemen Texas is looking at as a possible replacement for Ronnie Perkins in case Texas isn’t able to flip Perkins. – (Super K)
– Major Recruiting Weekend: Back in the 2016 class we saw Charlie Strong bring in a huge group of recruits that totaled around 20 guys on a weekend in January for official visits. There were a lot of big name guys in that group, that one thing about them was that the majority of them weren’t committed publicly. A lot of those guys ended up signing with the Longhorns though.
It seems like Tom Herman and his staff will have a similar type weekend in December. After talking to some people, December 15th will be a huge recruiting weekend for Texas. The reason for this is pretty simple. Some of Texas’ biggest recruiters are guys like Caden Sterns, BJ Foster, and Casey Thompson. All three of those guys are enrolling early at Texas and the major dead period before signing day is from December 18th to January 11th. Those three commits will have enrolled at Texas by the time the dead period ends, so it makes sense for the staff to get a lot of other recruits on campus with these 3.
The main difference is that the majority of the recruits that will be on campus are already committed to Texas. That’s the main difference in this class and the group Charlie Strong brought in late in the 2016 class. It will still be a big weekend, regardless. – (Andrew)
– Team Note | Sam Ehlinger: After being out since the Oklahoma State game with concussion symptoms, I am told that Sam Ehlinger returned to practice yesterday (Sunday).
Buechele, however, continued to take the first team reps despite, according to a source, still limping a little. – (Super K)
– Luke Ford: Back in the summer, Texas offered 2018 TE, Luke Ford (Carterville, IL). Ford has offers from most of the top programs around the country. With JUCO TE, Dominick Woods-Anderson decommitting, Texas is looking for another TE prospect.
We are told Luke Ford may be on campus this upcoming weekend for a official visit to Texas.
Per sources, UGA is currently the team to beat for Ford. We are told he has a close connection to UGA QB commit, Justin Fields.
