Open Post | Wednesday, December 6th

Committed Visitors: For a few weeks now, we’ve been reporting that Texas is going to host a huge official visit this weekend. There will be some uncommitted recruits in town but there will also be a big number of Texas commits in town as well doing some recruiting. Some of those guys are…

Heights (TX) CB Jalen Green

Alief Taylor (TX) WR Brennan Eagles

Hou. Lamar (TX) CB D’Shawn Jamison

Hou. Lamar (TX) WR Al’Vonte Woodard

Dekaney (TX) TE Malcolm Epps

Westfield (TX) DT Keondre Coburn

Eastern Hills (TX) OLB Byron Hobbs

Seminole (TX) OT Reese Moore

Wakeland (TX) OT Rafiti Ghirmai

IMG Academy (FL) LB Ayodele Adeoye

Trevor Elbert: Coach Beck stopped by Ventura College this week to see JUCO OT, Trevor Elbert. As we previously noted, Elbert is a former Aggie and a highly recruited player out of college. Appears to be P5 ready.

If Elbert is offered, I am told, he could pull the trigger immediately.

Elbert’s coach let me know that Beck met with Elbert for a couple of hours. No offer was extended. However, they did set up a official visit for December 15th. It’s beginning to sound like the staff may end up taking two JC guys with the highest priority still being Badara. – (Super K)

Curtis Dunlap: Yesterday, IMG Academy OL, Curtis Dunlap decommitted from Florida. Dunlap told us that Texas had reached out and he was scheduled to speak with Warehime yesterday. I do believe Texas will stop by to see him today.

Ossai/Bonitto: As we’ve reported for a while now, if the new HC at Texas A&M retains DL coach Terry Price the Aggies will likely land Conroe Oak Ridge (TX) OLB/DE Joseph Ossai. While nothing is official just yet, it sounds very very likely that new Aggies HC Jimbo Fisher going to keep Price in College Station.

More news that leads me to believe this one isn’t going to workout for Texas is that I was told yesterday morning that Ossai and his family are heading back to TAMU for a visit this weekend.

In addition to Ossai Texas has been recruiting St. Thomas Aquinias (FL) OLB Nik Bonitto. With Ossai likely coming off the board, Bonitto will be the sole target. Louisville is a school that has felt confident in landing Bonitto for awhile now and have been recruiting him longer than most schools.

Texas offered in September and have been recruiting him as a pass rusher though K believes, based on film, he may have the feet and hips to multiple LB spots.

The hometown Miami Hurricanes have entered the race for Bonitto so things have gotten a little tougher for Texas here.

I’m looking to speak with someone close to Bonitto today to get the latest on his recruitment. Also, K is set to speak with Nik sometime this week.

Nik Bonitto tells us that coach Todd Orlando will be out to see Bonitto today. – (Andrew)

Courtre Alexander: This past Monday we mentioned 2018 DE/DT, Courtre Alexander (Owasso, OK) as a player to watch. Oscar Giles stopped by to see him this morning.

Exchanged texts with Courtre this morning who said, “He (Oscar Giles) said they are going to offer. He needs to talk to the head coach first”.

It sounds like they are just waiting to review Courtre’s transcript which I believe will happen today. – (Super K)
