Texas lands commitment of high 4-star PG Courtney Ramey

Basketball on my FOOTBALL Brainiacs? Well, when Texas lands the #40 ranked player in the nation, and he happens to be a point guard, I feel that’s important enough to blur the lines.

Courtney Ramey comes from the GREAT city of St. Louis, stands at 6’3″ 170lbs, and has been rated the #8 guard in the nation.

Shaka Smart took the reins of this recruitment and it landed him a huge win over the competition of Villanova, Kansas, Louisville, Mizzou, Oklahoma State, Maryland, Oklahoma, and SLU. Ramey decommitted from Louisville in late September when an FBI investigation became public, and officially visited Texas in December where he came away impressed.

This also provides some much needed depth and ball handling skills to the guard position to help Matt Coleman and replace Eric Davis, Jacob Young, and (possibly) Kerwin Roach and Andrew Jones.

There is a chance he’s a one-and-done; however he will headline a class that also touts a pair of four-star forwards in Gerald Liddell and Kamaka Hepa.
