– Anthony Hines: Spoke to a source close to the Hines family recently. Anthony was expected to attend the OU vs. Ohio State game this weekend. That visit has been cancelled which I’m told bodes well for Texas and Texas A&M.
While the Sooners long held a lead for Hines, the source said that they have fallen back and Texas and Texas A&M are sitting at the top. I was told that Texas A&M does have a slight lead over Texas at the moment but we are still a little over a two months from an announcement and Texas is trending in the right direction.
To be honest, if you asked me a couple months ago if Texas had a chance, I would have said, “no”. But again, things have changed and Texas is trending up. – (Super K)
– Walker Little: The only visit Little has taken so far was to Texas when they knocked off Notre Dame, but he has some more additional visits coming up.
I was told Little and his parents will be in Palo Alto this weekend for an unofficial visit to Stanford for the USC game. Also Stanford HC David Shaw was at Little’s game on Friday.
They were also planning to visit Ole Miss when the Rebels take on Georgia, but since the game will kick off at 11 AM they likely won’t make that trip anymore due to the long drive to Oxford. I somewhat get the sense the Ole Miss visit will be more for the family to see Walker’s other siblings, who attend Ole Miss. Walker also has one official visit set to Florida State when they host Clemson, which will be one of the biggest games of the season. I expect Little to take his official visits to Texas, Ole Miss, and Stanford after the season.
Having said all that, according to our sources, Texas is in very good shape here. They just need to continue doing what they’re doing. – (Andrew)
– Josh Thompson: Nacogdoches (TX) Texas DB commit Josh Thompson told me recently he plans to take some official visits. As of right now he has three visits in his mind. The first one is to the school he was previously committed to in TCU. He will be in Fort Worth this weekend for that visit. The others are Houston (no date set yet), and Texas which he plans to visit after the season ends.
“Texas has nothing to worry about”, he said when telling me about his plans to visit elsewhere. – (Andrew)
