Maureese Wren | Linebacker: It does appear Texas remains in pursuit of additional linebackers. In case you missed it, last week Texas offered 2018 LB and BYU commit, Brandon Kaho (Reno, NV).

An interesting local prospect though, who is starting to receive some interest from Texas is 2018 ATH and Arkansas commit, Maureese Wren (Mesquite, TX). Wren is actually a 6’3 220 lb WR…and a pretty dang good one but schools are beginning to look at him as a linebacker. He’s been playing defensive end this year. A few clips of him transitioning to defense are available on his early senior year hudl film.

I’ve been in contact with Wren and he tells me that he is hearing from Texas and is scheduled to speak with director of player personnel, Derek Chang, later today.

I did check in with Demarvion Overshown’s father just to see if these new linebacker names was due to any uneasiness on the part of the current commits. Overshown’s father tells me that they are solid and have no plans, at this time, to take any official visits. – (Super K)

Marcus Hicks: Also, in case you missed it, Texas offered 2019 DE, Marcus Hicks (Wichita, KS).

Hicks tells me he will visit Texas for a game in October. – (Super K)
