The Longhorn’s offense suffered from lack luster offensive line play and offensive play calling last year. Our sources have confirmed that Tom Herman has decided to be proactive and brought in Auburn’s OL coach herb Hand to be the Longhorns’ Co-OC and OL coach.

It has not yet been cleared up how Hand and Warehime will split offensive line duties, and Warehime may move on after National Signing Day.
The one thing I have heard is that his offensive lines were also lack luster at both Penn State and Auburn. Neither fanbase was sad to see him go. According to Auburn Undercover, “Mixed bag… Slow starts were common. Auburn quarterback Jarrett Stidham was sacked 11 times by Clemson in Week 2 in 2017 and the Tigers finished the season with six sacks against UCF in the Peach Bowl. The rushing performance against UCF was the second-lowest by average (2 yards) of the season.”
Beyond this, Auburn held the 16th best rushing attack in 2017 (S&P+) and was tied for Texas at 47th in TFLs allowed at 82.
Another place that Hand will prove immediately useful is on the recruiting trail where he has landed two consensus 5-stars in each of his last two stops. Hand was also Auburn’s tie to graduate transfer target Rice OT Calvin Anderson.
