Texas is back on the board! This time with the commitments of Kennedale safety JD Coffey and Kimball cornerback Ishmael Ibraheem
Coffey earned his Texas offer back in June of 2019 and the Longhorns did a great job throughout his recruitment despite an overhaul in defensive position coaches.
In 2019, Coffey was named the 6–4A Defensive MVP.
As for Ibraheem, Texas offered right around the same time as Coffey, back in June of 2019 and kept Ibraheem on the top of their priority list for the duration of his recruitment.
Ibraheem is a lengthy cornerback with legit speed as well. He’s a consensus 4-star with a composite rating of .9266.

With both Coffey and Ibraheem now in the fold, Texas now holds 13 pledges in the 2021 class with seven of them on the defensive side of the ball. The duo also catapults the Longhorns back into the top ten in the team rankings as well.
